Wet Wedding

You can spend months planning for your wedding day, but one thing you can’t organise is the weather. It will be what it will be and you have to be flexible and adapt the plan. New years Eve was a dull, cold and wet day and I was shooting a wedding in St Helens. I’d eliminated the Church as the primary location for the group shots as it was poorly lit and the building seemed to double as a playgroup, youth club and band rehearsal area. I had scouted the area around the venue which was St Helens Rubgy Leauge Club and had a plan for night time urban photography and I’d do the groups on the pitch before the wedding breakfast. As it turned out the rain was lashing down all afternoon, but St Helens Rugby League Club is a great venue for indoor photography. There is loads of room for group shots and all sorts of photographically interesting wall art.I used the lift, reception, the boardroom and the trophy cabinet, the changing rooms and finally the pitch.
